Jim Winters ~ Jim's Own

Jim Winters lives in Maine. Of this instrument, he says, "I feel strangely proud of this instrument. In the two years during which I did not have any money to buy a hurdy gurdy of any kind, I made this one from wood in the garbage can at the local Home Depot down in Bangor. I can't say the tuning is G/C. It is more nothing. Yet, this remains something I treasure. I even hurt my hand once while making it. Sheet rock screw construction. Super solid. Coffin body style. One of a kind!
