Marcos Kaiser Mori
Model from 1744 Jean Louvet
"I study at Sao Paulo University, and my research is about early instruments. This instrument was made in 1999, and had the opportunity to meet its model, or at least what survived from it (made by Jean Louvet in 1744)at the Musée de La Musique in Paris. It also survived some very wet days in St. Chartier, and played in smoky pubs in Hungary before coming back to Brazil packed with the normal baggage in the plane. It is a tough girl, but with a sweet voice. Currently another model, after Pierre Louvet is being made, with a man´s head with turbant carved. It will be a funny couple, to contrast with the sober chiffonies at the workshop."
