Trish Lipscomb holds her custom made hurdy gurdy with inlaid ebony and mother of pearl decoration.
As a cat lover, Trish asked luthiers Chris Allen and Sabina Kormylo to make a Colson copy instrument
decorated with a cat and mouse theme. The instrument is in G/C tuning with a third chanterelle added in D.
It is fitted with geared pegs and has a trompette capo to enable rapid and accurate changing from G to C tuning.
Trish created the carved cat head on the peghead which was then copied onto the instrument.
